Welcome to the worship of God on this Sunday.  We extend a special greeting to all guests who are worshiping with us today.  Please fill in the attendance pad, which you will find near the center aisle. (Don’t forget the date so that the attendance will be correctly recorded).  Also note that the container in the Narthex that has NO plastic bag inside is for RECYCLING. The other one is for garbage.

Special Card for Guests We ask our guests to fill out the card in the pews.  It includes a detachable nametag to wear and a place for information about yourself.

We welcome this morning, Rev. Stephen Weightman.  Rev. Stephen Weightman was ordained in Palisades Presbytery in 1970, and has served as a full-time pastor and stated supply in our Presbytery, until he joined the ranks of the honorably retired.

BUILDING PRESERVATION FUND: We are off to a good start with $18,000 in donations to the fund in our first week. Please make your checks payable to First Presbyterian Church and make sure you memo the check PRESERVATION FUND.

The Sanctuary Flowers this morning are given in loving memory of Keith Liston by his family.

Bible School Notes  The Bible School is in the closing weeks of the Winter term.  It is important that the teachers and children have their full time in class.  Dismissal time is 11:15; and can be later if the Worship service runs overtime, which happens on occasion.  Nursery Class children are in class from 10 am, and may be picked up at the close of worship, if before 11:15.  Thank you for honoring our class times.

Spring term teachers may pick up their curriculum today in the Metzger Room.

Crib and Crawl  Jacqueline Galichon and Veronica Ditko are welcoming our little ones today.  Next week Kim Balk and Heather Clark will be our volunteers.  Please take advantage of this play time for your youngsters during worship. You’ll be glad you did!!!

Happy Chinese New Year!   Join us TODAY at Grand Buffet Restaurant on Rt. 17 for lunch.  Cost is $10 (soda, tax and tip included) for adults and $7 for children under 12.

Lenten Series begins tonight at 6:30 in the Chapel.  Our spiritual life will be enhanced with the offering in these weeks during Lent.  Tonight, Therese Saulnier will offer a practical perspective and practical advice in living a contemplative life in the 21st century. Centering Prayer is her focus this evening.  Please join us in this and following programs. Soup, Bread and Discussion on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7 p.m.  Please use the blue insert to let the committee know if you will join us for our light supper and discussion on Rob Bell’s video, “Open.”

Offering envelopes are in the Narthex. Thank you for picking up your box of envelopes for 2010.

“SENDING OUR LOVE TO HAITI” The star studded concert at Bergen PAC on February 21st at 8:00pm is a joint effort co-chaired by The Presbyterian Church at Tenafly and Temple Sinai of Bergen County.  The 1st Pres of Ramsey Mission Committee is a sponsor, helping to underwrite the event, where the stars of Broadway, Carnegie Hall, and The Met will perform to raise money in support of specifically targeted charities providing aid to Haiti. CFA FOOD DRIVE   Please help CFA in Mahwah fill their shelves – even if you bring only one item every other week, it helps. If you can give more, that’s even better.  All items will be delivered to Mahwah Center for Food Action Wednesday morning each week.

February Items:  Canned tomatoes, Cake Mixes and Frosting, Mac/Cheese, Canned Beans, Mixed Flavored Rice, Peanut Butter/Jelly, and also items that are always needed: Bottled and Boxed Juices, Snacks, Shampoo, Toothpaste and Paper Towels.

9 bags of food went to CFA Wednesday, February 17th. So far this year 56 bags of donations to CFA.  (Last Year our total starting from February was 284).  Let’s make it 300 this year. Continue to keep up the good work!!!

The new calendar is posted in the Narthex.  You can sign up to cover the cost for the flowers in the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings and use this as an opportunity to honor someone, to celebrate a special occasion or just give thanks for our multitude of blessings!  You are welcome to take them with you after the service or donate them to be delivered to our friends at home.  We appreciate your great support of this flower ministry!  Please contact Irma at the office to place your order.

The Connections Book Group is reading “The Camel Bookmobile” by Masha Hamilton for February.  Copies are available at the Ramsey Library.  Please note that our discussion will take place on the 4th Wednesday, the 24th of February, because the 3rd Wednesday is Ash Wednesday.  We will meet in the Metzger Room at 7:30 PM.  Any questions, please call Di French at 201-327-4596.
