Dear Friends,
First Presbyterian Church is a fine congregation of members who support and provide for one another in all manners of care. We rejoice that God has drawn this community together for nearly 200 years. As much as we delight in this body of Christ, we take great comfort in the dwelling place that our Lord has so generously secured for us to hold worship.
Generations rise and pass away with new generations empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue their legacies. In the same way, our church buildings can become faded and worn, making it necessary to take measures to renovate and restore our spaces. Such measures insure that future generations will also have a fitting place to gather and glorify God's name.
Last year, First Presbyterian Church was blessed by the vision of a small team of parishioners who reached out to the congregation to secure funding for required building improvements. Thanks to so many of you, these improvements were funded and are now complete. New windows have been installed, the Administrative building roof was replaced, interior and exterior portions of the building have been painted, and special lighting has been added. The result is
fantastic. The saints would be proud.
On Sunday, November 6th, we will hold a special worship service during which we will dedicate the First Presbyterian Church Building Preservation Projects to God's glory in the context of our annual All Saints Day service. Our worship service will be a lovely celebration of what has gone on before us, what has come to pass and what will be of good purpose for generations to come.
It promises to be a lovely day in the courts of the Lord. We look forward to
worshiping with you then.
In peace, hope, joy, love and light,
Beverly
